Who the f*ck are these people that say things like why should we help those people in Japan, we should help ourselves first…! if your one of these people sorry but i really dislike you right now.
They have suffered an earthquake, tsunami, radiation leakage, a breakdown of all transportation, electricity, power and water in many areas and an estimated 10,000 dead…that is real suffering and hardship, should we just ignore the pain and death because it’s not our country?
There are entire villages that have been washed away.
Oh it’s not happening here so why should i give a sh*t there Asian anyway so who cares…really? are you that selfish, ignorant and evil? really?
Do you really need that new £50 pound video game or those £100 pound odd pair of shoes?
There are children over there with nothing but the blood stained clothing on there backs with little or nothing to eat, no place to wash, maybe they can’t even eat from the radiation levels that are 400 times higher than the level in which causes cancer?…maybe there not hungry because they just witnessed there family dying in a horrible way? but if your really one of these people that thinks we should be more interested in making things even easier for ourselves rather than helping the helpless well then i want you to think about those children as you over indulge at the bakers tomorrow or as you buy those jeans that cost you more than what it would cost to feed a family for a week (estimated £40 pounds UK).
I’m not interested in making people feel guilty or feel like they have to donate, all i care about is helping and i want you all who can donate but don’t to stop for a moment and really think about things, about the world and your place in it, your short life and the impact you could have on the world in the time you have, the people suffering, you could really be there hero, you can look to Japan in the future and know that you really helped those people in there time of need.
They would help us I’m sure so we should help them, in a world without borders built by war we are all the same people, Japan is just as important as the rest of the world.
Japan’s citizens donated $1.5 million after Katrina, along with Japan’s government donating around $1 million in relief supplies and Japanese companies donated $12 million. Two individual Japanese citizens donated $1 million ASIDE from total public donations. If you’re going to become prideful and xenophobic, at least do your research first.
Please donate what you can even if just a few pounds and please make sure and donate to charities and organisations that will actually make sure the money goes to helping Japan, donate to the red cross or others but make sure there reputable first.
This was originally meant to be a simple facebook post but ended up being too long, thank you for going out your way to read this and i hope you will seriously think about the people of Japan.
thank you,
Alex Jackson
